Yeni Mendez Romero was proudly raised in New Brunswick, inspired by her hardworking parents who instilled in her the values of dedication, resilience, and the power of community.  The teachers who educated Yeni in New Brunswick’s schools were her guiding lights and motivators, inspiring her success and fueling her vision to serve on the City Council.

Yeni's journey of service began with a leadership role at Holy Family Parish, where she was honored to make a positive impact on the community that shaped her. Today, as a local business owner on Livingston Avenue, she proudly hires locally and supports mom-and-pop shops, understanding firsthand the dreams and hard work behind every small business in our city.

 

Yeni passionately believes that women are the backbone of our neighborhoods, playing an essential role in building stronger, safer, and more vibrant communities. Her care extends far beyond her own children—She is deeply committed to the safety and well-being of every child growing up in our neighborhoods.
