Affordability
The Power to the People team is committed to making New Brunswick a more affordable city. That's why Charlie, Doris, and Yeni support stronger rent control and inclusionary zoning to create more affordable housing units. The team already has a workable plan to launch a free city bus system that would connect our neighborhoods, make life easier and more affordable for residents and families who don't have a car.
Safety
The Power to the People team knows that the best way to make our city safer is by addressing the needs of the community members. That's why Charlie, Yeni, and Doris will advocate for the creation of community centers in every part of the city that will provide safe spaces and positive activities for our youth. They will also advocate for more programs and facilities to provide shelter, food, and healthcare to those in need.
Transparency
The Power to the People team believes that government works best when it operates fairly and transparently. That's why Charlie, Doris, and Yeni will host regular public meetings focused on issues, and expand access to government meetings through videoconferencing technology and Spanish interpretation. The team will also advocate for the creation strong local organizations to build community in our neighborhoods and more programming and services in our apartment buildings.
